Food Truck Friday: Makin’ Waves. Working out of the Rowayton Train Station, Monday through Friday from 5:30 am – 1:30 pm, Makin’ Waves serves breakfast and lunch (mostly grab and go for the morning commuters, such as egg sandwiches, bagels, muffins, scones, etc.). Lunch features burgers, grilled chicken, fish and chips, and one of their specialties...a Portuguese foot-long hot dog. Other specialty items are Portuguese themed, such as malasadas, rosettes, and Portuguese muffins (similar to the English muffin but way better). They also offer catering. Craving something different? Come and grab Jersey Dave’s authentic Taylor Ham Sandwich! Two thick slices of Taylor Ham, fried egg, American cheese and SPK (salt, pepper, ketchup), all on a buttered, toasted roll. Follow @makinwaves31 to see updates and where the truck will be popping up on weekends. Check out the full menu at

New in Norwalk: 1920 Bar & Bistro. Launched last December, 1920 Bar & Bistro is transforming the iconic brick structure at 2 Wilton Ave. (on the corner of Cross St.) into an exciting new dining experience. It’s breathing new life into this iconic “Old Norwalk” location with New American cuisine and old-school-style and sensibility. The structure was built in 1920 and was home to Norwalk's first electric generation station and then a hat factory. Today, this beloved neighborhood landmark has been revitalized with a vision of a laid-back and fun destination with unfussy and delicious cuisine, exquisite wine, and throwback cocktails, all wrapped in nostalgia. It makes great use of the building’s 7,000 square feet and its various rooms, which now feature a casual all-day bar and bistro, a cocktail lounge with a baby grand piano, and the 1920 dining room, a more elegant setting for those special evenings, as well as 1920’s distinctive Chef’s Table events and theme dinners. 1920 Café will soon open and serve coffee, breakfast, and light lunches.
