It is richly rewarding. Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project

We are a nonprofit community-based AIDS Services Organization (ASO). Over the years we have added housing, substance abuse harm reduction, HIV and overdose prevention. Through strong relationships and hard-working staff, we have become well respected in the community. Providers and clients look to us for guidance and leadership. We assist people with disabilities and limited income by subsidizing a portion of their fees. Addressing Stigmatized populations is at the core of our mission. MFAP funding comes from: grants, our 340 B Pharmacy program, fundraising events and many private donors. We work with and collaborate with all providers in Fairfield County including shelters, medical providers, housing providers, behavioral healthcare providers, AIDS Service Organizations, food providers, transportation and many more.

MFAP takes pride in its volunteers, and we welcome you to become part of our team. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you spend one day per month or a week. Your time is always appreciated!

Our members make a visible difference by serving as community leaders using their experience to create positive, lasting change in our communities.

Why Should I Join?

Through participation in League projects, you will:

  • contribute valuable service to the community
  • gain knowledge and experience through the study and discussion of timely and important topics

  • make professional contacts and develop lasting friendships as you meet others in League who share your interests

How Much Time Does it Take?

It’s up to you! Many members choose to support the League only with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in a group study, or listening to a panel of experts at a meeting or just reading about them in one of our publications.

Norwalk River Valley Trail

The Norwalk River Valley Trail will be the longest trail in Fairfield County — 30 miles of trail connecting Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, Connecticut to Rogers Park in Danbury, passing through Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding along the way.

NRVT will give all the chance to hike, bike, run, walk, stroll with a baby, or walk with a furry friend along the Norwalk River, along ponds, and up lovely Connecticut hills. This trail recognizes that good mental and physical health come from spending time in Mother Nature and that we all don’t want to get in our cars to go somewhere.

The 10-foot-wide paved and stone dust trail accommodates everyone and is handicap accessible. Currently, there are nearly 13 completed miles to enjoy with an additional 3 miles in pre-constructions phases. More plans are in progress along the entire route.

We look forward to completing more miles of this wonderful journey – with you and for you!

Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra

The NGSO believes that music should be challenging, yet fun. Where once symphony orchestras were relegated to concert halls, contemporary orchestras are finding alternate routes of musical expression! The NGSO presents video game music as orchestrated arrangements – this is not the blips and bloops of the 80’s (although sometimes we manage to work it in!)

  • Foster Musical Appreciation: Foster an appreciation for video game music as an important cultural art form

  • Promote Musical Excellence: Promote and propel local musicians to improve their skills

  • Encourage Meaningful Experience: Come together collectively and collaboratively engage in meaningful social interaction within the community

We are a no-audition community orchestra! We welcome musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels to join us, as long as you are passionate about playing and performing! We will work with you to modify the pieces, if necessary. We also welcome musicians that want to practice their arranging or conducting skills.

If you are under 18, we require your parent or guardian to provide additional information to complete the application.
