Crunch Fitness

Some may call it a tagline, but for us, it’s a way of life. It’s our Monday-thru-every-day mantra. An unfiltered philosophy that drives us to create a community and a gym for all. No judgments means room for everyone, regardless of shape, size, age, race, gender or fitness level. No matter your workout of choice, we want you to feel good while reaching your goals. Join the fun.

There are no judgments here – No too much or not enough. No glares of disapproval. Here we keep open minds. We are nurturers. We seek only to encourage, empower and entertain. There is no one type. There is no one reason. There is no one way.

What we are is a diverse community; what we have is a culture of fun; what there is, is room for everyone: all kinds of people with all kinds of goals who’ve chosen to come reach them with us.

Crunch. No Judgments.

The Maritime Aquarium

The Maritime Aquarium gives visitors a window into Long Island Sound, officially designated an Estuary of National Significance, and a veritable rain forest of the sea, rich in aquatic life. This extraordinary ecosystem has supported the economy and culture of this region since prehistoric times.

Today, some 20 million people – among them, the vast majority of The Maritime Aquarium’s visitors – live within a one-hour drive of the Sound. The cumulative effects of their actions make sustaining the natural functioning of the Sound a real challenge. But in this challenge lies our opportunity – to fulfill the promise of aquariums articulated by the Pew Oceans Commission (2003) and foster an ocean conservation ethic focused on this fine body of water in Connecticut’s front yard.

LobsterCraft SoNo

Founded in 2012, LobsterCraft is the brainchild of Captain William Michael Harden. Captain Mike, as his friends and loyal followers call him, is a Coast Guard Captain and licensed Lobster fisherman. In 2006, Captain Mike purchased Jennifer Lynn, a 38’ WESMAC. A strong, sturdy lobster boat handmade in Maine, Jennifer Lynn is able to handle any weather Long Island Sound waters throw her way. Based out of Groton, the Jennifer Lynn works our line of deep water lobster traps east of Montauk in the Atlantic Ocean. As lobstermen like to say “The colder the water, the sweeter the meat!” and that’s true for the lobster you’ll have at LobsterCraft! Captain Mike’s passion for the ocean evolved into a business after friends asked if he could catch, cook and prepare lobster for them. Realizing the void in fresh, local lobster, Captain Mike purchased a truck in 2012 and began rolling, literally starting off with private parties and street vending from the truck. The lobster rolls that Captain Mike and the crew have served up have been critically acclaimed in local people’s choice awards such as the Best of Fairfield County and nationally by Food Network’s Flavored Nation as the best lobster roll in the country.
