Crystal Theatre presents “Tintypes”, a community theatre production at The Norwalk Inn (99 East Ave.) on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. Norwalk’s theatre and Norwalk’s inn are joining forces in a brand-new collaboration that returns dinner theatre to Fairfield County at long last! This rarely produced musical enjoyed a successful run on Broadway in 1980. Recognizable tunes ("Yankee Doodle", "Meet Me in St. Louis", "Toyland", "El Capitan", "You're a Grand Old Flag", and more) coalesce with some of the more unheard of, beautiful early-20th century melodies. Chronicling the growing pains of a nation, Tintypes is a tune-filled panorama; a musical melting pot; the Great American Songbook come to life. It offers snapshots – tintypes, if you will – of America in its last Age of Innocence. This Tony-nominated, nostalgic musical revue takes us back to turn-of-the-century America and is a brew of popular songs from 1890 to 1917. Boasting a top-tier cast of five local performers, a live onstage band, and full buffet dinner, tickets can be purchased at www.crystaltheatre.org. Photo Credit: Laszlo Balazs @crystaltheatre_ct
