Kids to Parks Day

Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

In partnership with the National Park Trust, the City of Norwalk will host its first Kids to Park Day, which is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May in municipalities nationwide. The day connects kids and families with local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events promoting discovery and exploration in the great outdoors. This free, family-friendly event will take place at Calf Pasture Beach and include a variety of activities for children and families, such as fun fitness, an obstacle course with Grit Ninja on the Go, music, lawn games, and a scavenger hunt for all ages. There will also be fishing lessons taught by the Play & Learn Beach Camp Director, Mark Jackson, in which kids must bring fishing rods to participate. The event will take place on the lawn next to Ripka’s Cafe. Please note that parking rules will be in effect, so participants must make sure that their license plate is in the City’s system before parking, or they will be required to pay the $65 parking fee to park at Calf Pasture Beach. To verify plates, residents can visit https://hub.norwalkct.gov/passes/. RSVP: To register, participants can visit https://bit.ly/3MPTw66. Please provide activity code 052023 in the “Activity Number Space” to register. Registration will close on May 15. For more information, please email recreation@norwalk.gov or call (203) 854-7806. A parent or guardian must accompany children attending the event as it is not a drop-off event.
