Free Admission for Kids this Summer at Participating Norwalk Museums

CT Summer at the Museum 2022 is here! This program invites Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult to visit participating museums free of charge through September 5. Funding for the CT Summer at the Museum program is provided by the CT General Assembly, with the support of Connecticut Humanities, the Department of Economic and Community Development, and the Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the federal ARPA. The City is grateful to these participating Norwalk organizations: Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Norwalk Historical Society Museum, Norwalk Seaport Association, and Stepping Stones Museum for Children.

Free Kids’ Station Activities at The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. The LMMM, located at 295 West Ave., invites Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult to visit free of charge through September 5. Tours will be available Wednesdays through Sundays from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and include a Kids’ Station with fun activities to engage visitors ages 18 and under during their tour and provide souvenirs to bring home. Free Admission for Kids at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. The Aquarium is thrilled to be participating in the CT Summer at the Museum program, which offers free entry for all Connecticut residents 18 and under, along with one accompanying Connecticut resident adult in each group through Labor Day, September 5. To participate, use the promo code CTFREE when reserving tickets online at my.maritimeaquarium.org/events. Tickets are also available at the door, but the Aquarium highly recommends reserving them online prior to your visit. . The Aquarium is located at 10 North Water St. with easy parking in the Maritime Garage.

Free Self-Guided Tours for Families at the Norwalk Historical Society Museum. Are you a CT Family? Then take part in the CT Summer at the Museum program where Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult get free admission to the Norwalk Historical Society Museum through Saturday, September 3. Limit 5 children per family. When purchasing tickets online, choose “CT Summer At The Museum” admission. Get tickets here: https://bit.ly/3ylob27. The NHSM is located in Mill Hill Historic Park at 2 East Wall St., only a short walk from the Norwalk Green. Easy parking at the City Hall lot or Yankee Doodle Garage. Free Cruise for Kids at Norwalk Seaport Association. As part of the CT Summer at the Museum 2022 program, which invites Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult to visit participating museums free of charge through September 5, the Seaport Association is offering a three-hour cruise to Sheffield Island and Sheffield Island Lighthouse Museum, Tuesdays through Sundays at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Reservations must be made in advance online only. There is a limited number of tickets allocated for each day. Special events are excluded. To make reservations for a cruise to Sheffield Island Lighthouse Museum, visit https://bit.ly/3nveQ2z. The Seaport Dock is located at 4 North Water St., at the corner of Washington and Water Sts. Parking is available at the adjacent North Water St. lot or the Maritime Garage.

Free Admission Mondays for Kids at Stepping Stones Museum for Children. Stepping Stones is once again a proud participant of the CT Summer at the Museum free admission for kids program. Through Labor Day, September 5, all Connecticut children ages 18 and under along with one accompanying Connecticut resident adult can visit Stepping Stones on Mondays free of charge. No advance registration is required. In addition, the museum will host FREE Friday Fun Nights from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on July 15, August 5 and September 2. On these nights, admission is free for all visitors. Stepping Stones is located in Mathews Park, 303 West Ave. www.steppingstonesmuseum.org.
