Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month in Norwalk

Art Smarts at Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Mathews Park, 303 West Ave. Calling all young artists! Experiment with a wide variety of artistic materials and methods including paint, sculpture, printing and collage. Children will explore shapes, colors, forms and patterns while learning about different modes of expression. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, you’ll explore the works of different Hispanic artists that have made an impact with their arts, including Joan Miro, Salvador Dali and Margarita Azurdia. Visitors will also create artwork of their own inspired by the artist of the week. Museum hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. More information at https://www.steppingstonesmuseum.org.

Norwalk Public Library will host a virtual reading of Marcelo Hernandez Castillo’s book “Children of the Land” on Friday, October 7 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. virtually on Zoom. The panel will include the author Marcelo Hernandez Castillo, City of Norwalk First Lady Lucia C.
